One of the South Africa’s buying craze has reached the small and medium business industry with the launch of getBIZ.co.za, a site that offers business services at a hefty discount.

The site is the brainchild of former UCT student Akhona Ngwane and Paul Hardy, boss of brand experience agency imediasolutions.

Paul said: “This is not about distress space or hard-to-move business services. GetBIZ is about opportunities for the small business community to learn more about each other, to take part in a dialogue and importantly, to secure amazing deals.”

GetBIZ’s offering works on the same principle as mainstream group buying sites – a business owner get a deal at a much lower price, so long as enough of anyone signs up for it.

Paul said: “For any business owner, promoting their business to as many potential businesses as possible is a labour-intensive and expensive task. On the flip side, for any business their biggest expense is on marketing & promotion. GetBIZ offers a win-win opportunity for both sides.”

GetBIZ is targeting all business to business services including media, digital marketing - as well as vendors of marketing products such as promotional products and merchandise.

The first offers begin in a month’s time.
